Great Commission Ministries was founded in 1989 to mobilize staff to plant churches on U.S. college campuses.
In the 1990s, GCM became a member of the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA), CrossGlobal Link (formerly IFMA), and The Mission Exchange (formerly EFMA). While always primarily focused in the US, GCM also became an international sending agency when its first missionaries were sent to Europe in 1991.
Over the years, GCM has expanded to include ministry partnership with urban and missional churches in addition to campus and international churches. Today we employ over 350 staff who serve in more than 46 churches and 11 countries. GCM is an integrated auxiliary of GCM Churches, an association of campus-focused churches in the U.S. We partner with many like-minded mission organizations and church movements around the world. In 2008, GCM became a member of the National Association of Evangelicals (NAE).
We’re thankful for the lives God has touched through GCM. We look forward to seeing more lives won to Christ and built to spiritual maturity through GCM missionaries. |
